Shooting Unaccompanied Over Land

Course duration: 2 days / 20 contact-hours

Eligible candidates: FAC holders (in most cases) wanting a credible qualification to demonstrate their competence to use a centre-fire sporting rifle, on an unsupervised basis, over land upon which they have permission to shoot.


Course content:

  • Weapon safety rules
  • Safe-handling techniques
  • Basic legal responsibilities of the shooter
  • The safe shot model (SSM) and its application
  • Shooting risks and options for their management
  • Land survey (theory and practice) including map interpretation, risk assessment and land visits.
